The 9 Grahas.
The Navagraha — nine grahas — are the foundation of classical Vedic astrology (Jyotish). Seven are physical: Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangal (Mars), Budha (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus) and Shani (Saturn). Two are shadowy lunar nodes: Rahu (north node) and Ketu (south node). Each graha rules a sign, signifies specific karakas (significations), runs a dasha period in the 120-year Vimshottari cycle, and has classical remedies drawn from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Saravali and Phaladeepika.
