The 12 Bhavas.

Every Vedic kundali is a wheel of twelve houses (bhavas), measured from the Lagna (ascendant). Four are Kendras (1, 4, 7, 10) — the structural pillars. Three are Trikonas (1, 5, 9) — the dharma houses. Three are Upachayas (3, 6, 11) — growth houses where effort compounds. Three are Dusthanas (6, 8, 12) — difficulty houses that still rule transformation, inheritance and liberation. Classical Jyotish reads life through the strength of each bhava, the dignity of its lord, and the planets that occupy or aspect it. Tap any bhava below for its full signification, body parts ruled, good and bad planets, and the yogas born from it.
